First impressions .............

Just read this review online ...........

But it's not only the acceleration that makes the driving experience. The engine sounds stunning, too - it's meaty and muscular at low revs, while at 8,000rpm it'll make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. You often find yourself blipping the throttle and changing down, simply to savour the sound. Not that the heavily sprung clutch and weighty gearlever are easy to use initially - both require practice. Stopping power is awesome, though. But there is a downside: throttle response, which is almost too sharp - particularly if you engage Sport mode. It's hard to avoid kangarooing in traffic and on bumpy roads.

Now that makes me feel a whole lot better .............. :D
First thing I noticed was the heavier clutch .... apparantly thats common, and its taking a bit of time to get it all smooth .......... that apparantly is normal too. I can live with all of that.

Definitely over the moon with the car ..... acceleration is mind boggling, ride quality is better than the 2 litre and the grin factor is huge.
Fuel consumption is better than expected ..... 27 mpg at 95 mph down the errrrrrrrrrrrrrr autobahn and 31 mpg on 50 mph roads. Around town its down to 20 mpg .....

Got a 400 quid quote for a proper paint job for the hard top, which is planned for when I get home in 2 weeks, in the mean time Ive bought some carbon wrap to see what that looks like.

Only real downside was insurance :D was difficult to find one that would accept "parking on driveway" ....... and premium was double (was 400, now 800) .....

You will learn to control that and it won't take that long.... :driving:

Some insurance firms think parking on a drive is worse than on the street as thieves 'know' the car keys are inside that house so will break in to get them... :o

Gear changes will take time to perfect, I couldn't believe how notchy the gearbox is on these cars, but now I'm totally used to it and learned how to change smoothly so don't give it a second thought

Enjoy anyways, I love mine :)

I don't bother with Sport mode – never did on the M3 either – so find throttle response absolutely fine.

its defo low........... no idea how it got there ..................
no signs of rear end damage, and no catagory anythings recorded .......... probably just fell off and somebpody stuck it back on with chewing gum....................
Ill be taken them all off this week anyway ................

Mine was cheaper to insure on a Secure Carpark than in a garage FFS! How does that work?

Well ............... the textured carbon wrap for the hardtop arrived, and I laid it on to see what it would look like and ..............
it looks shite ....

so, it's booked in for a spray job - if you say it fast enough, 400 quid doesn't sound too bad ......
will post piucs when its done.

How "real" does the wrap look?

The quality is spot on, i just didnt like it in combination with the red car. Got the wrap from Star Vinyls if you are interested.
