First gear needs more throttle than you'd think?

My 2.3i exhibits this desire for giving extra throttle at pull away , & in either normal or sport , no trouble with the clutch or gearbox , just feels hesitant until rolling or that you need to give it some poke when at times all i want to do is just pull out steady
I'm considering a remap to specifically sort mine :? any 2.3i owners had this & what were the results if any ?
& before all the knockers start shouting :roll: yeah i know a remap will produce little bhp benefits to the car , its not about that in this scenario

Keep me posted on this, certainly an option if it sorts out the issue...

Thought I'd add my experience to this one. One of the reasons for me swapping my 23i for a 35i was the lack of interest the car showed when pulling away in 1st in normal mode. I didn't want to keep having to switch to sport mode just to get a reasonable throttle response.

I can't remember any car I've owned needing so much accelerator pedal action from start to get the thing moving. Even with a stage 1 remap which gave around 10% extra torque, made no obvious difference.
