First car

Hey, I just got a manual bmw z4 30i sdrive hardtop as my first car from a guy in Baltimore about a month ago and it’s not been driven too much bc I have a permit, and I’ll say the deal was a bit too good, $8k 98k miles, and just got the 100,000 mile bmw service for $4k but the guy apparently died, and the guy I bought it from got it. Well with that info I wanted to know what I should check on the car for potential issues, it did get registered though, and some cheap mods, tips, and pointers for maintenance because this is the first time any of my family members have owned a bmw. Thanks y’all for the help!!!

Btw I think you can tell who parked it lol

Congrats Dylan, that looks great!
It certainly beats my first car, which was a 13 year old Ford Fiesta. It was so rusty that the ground was visible through the holes in the boot floor… as my mate found out when he has riding in the boot😁

Welcome aboard and congratulations on getting such a great first car for a bargain price Dylan.

Mine was a 9 year old Ford Cortina that required constant applications of body filler to fill rust holes and rattle can finishing.

N52 engines are pretty bulletproof, but it's worth looking out for oil leaks from the cam-cover and oil filter housing gaskets. The electric water pump will also die at some point but it happens out of the blue. I had one go at 60K miles, another at 135K. Sadly it leaves you stranded and new pumps cost £250 to £300 in the UK.
