Wow, impressive!

Your results may push me to get a DA and give it a go.

Thanks for sharing

Believe me if I can get a decent result anybody can. I am nearly akin to MichaelCrawford in ‘Some Mother’s’.

Your car looks great IRD - top job.

Certainly not a bad barracks to be confined to, so long as the M-Police don't incarcerate you!
With offending badges front and rear Iain it could be a life sentence.

Well you never know Ian, you may get a lighter sentence if you agreed to pass them on to an M owner - I'd put in a good word for you!

Looking at the views behind your Z they are some fine barracks to be confined to and as for the Z she looks superb red has got to be one of the most rewarding colours to detail nice work
Yes we are lucky, having a decent garden which opens on to the fields at the back so we can safely walk our two dogs, often not seeing anybody else. I feel sorry for those folk who have no outside space, especially if they have children.
As far as colour goes red is definitely my favourite colour for cars. But some cars look better in different colours. I had an E85 in silver which I really loved too.

My E85 is Silver it was my first choice for colours as think it shows off the design well.

I noticed you have cover for both your cars and being red that's a good thing because as i'm sure you know they pink really badly if left in the sun for long periods

Having my first go today- starting by practicing on the wife’s car  . The zee will then get its treatment later this week and if the energy is still there the X5 might even get a once over (this may be over ambitious )

I am sure all will be well. It is very satisfying when you see the results and think of the money saved. Imagine what it would cost if you sent all three cars to a detailer. Looking forward to seeing the photographs.

The Z lives in the garage with a cover over it when not being used regularly. The carport is a relic from when we used to have caravans but being high and open allows the dust to settle on anything stored under it. I bought the folding canvas garage, which fits nicely under the highest part of the carport, when I had the E85 and it just fitted snugly inside it. However the E89 is too big so that is cosseted in the garage and the Corolla Estate has to suffer the indignity of being exposed to all the dust and rubbish which settles. It is at it’s worst during harvest time. The canvas garage is just used for storage now bit has proved to be a useful bit of equipment.

Which DA did you use ? :driving:
It is a DAS-6 Pro Dual Action Polisher and I bought with the Meguiar’s micro fibre package from ‘Clean Your Car’.

Good effort results look great! I’ve been wanting to start using a DA but worried I’ll f#*@ it up!

I felt exactly the same but there really is nothing to worry about. I watched a few videos which were really helpful. It is worth the trouble and a lot cheaper than using a professional detailer.

Looks awesome. I test drove a few Melbourne Red Z4's and the colour was very very flat. You've definitely brought the best out.

I used AF Iron Out for the first time, amazing the number contaminants on what I always considered clean-body work, it was clayed about 1000 miles ago.

I took 3 days on my M - I’m no detailer and used a DA polisher, I was just a little patient and careful.

Thanks mate, I’m absolutely chuffed to bits. I thought the car was clean as the previous owner had it detailed just before I bought it however, when I installed new LED lights in my garage all the little swirls in the lacquer jumped out so it went from 1 panel to the whole car!!!

I’ve been giving her some TLC to be fair, I refinished the bar behind the grill and the rear dust shields as they had corroded - I blacked the grills too. Not major jobs but for me, they made a big difference.
