First Aid Kit Installation Question

Recently, I got two first aid kits and the brackets that go underneath the seats, however, they didn't come with any hardware. Does anyone know what I need and where might be the best place to get it? I tried the search, but didn't get any results. Thanks.

Each first aid kit has a bracket that it clips and then locks into. The bracket is fastened to the underneath of the seat pan with 3 torx headed bolts. Can't remember the exact size.

If nobody has a measurment I'll pull one Tuesday and measure it.

Obvious place is the BMW dealership for a few p/cents each

Hmm, all that says are self tapping screws. I thought there were already spots for the screws/bolts, which would agree with cj10 noting the Torx bolts. I'll have to check.

Thanks for that! How embarrassing, I even posted early on in that thread... I guess I should have thought to go back and check it.

Looks like 1/4 X 1/2 inch self tapping screws will do the trick. Those should be easier to find than the hex bolts.

By the way, I ended up getting the boxes and brackets at Tischer BMW (mileoneparts.com). The hardware / instructions weren't included in case anyone is interested. But at least those screws will be easy to find.

I bought my boxes @ Tischer too. Installation was a pain in the ass (not a lot of elbow room), but it worked out in the end. I have them tight enough so I'll never have to go under the seats again!

I have just done this on my Z4, I bought the bracket & box then realised the bracket was already installed.

If it helps the orig bracket I have is pop riveted in position :x

OK so the correct fitting is a T30 pan head self tapper. Approx 1/2" long. as shown below. Fitting requires 3 of them

I know this for certain as the correct fitment I have spares from building my seats out of both standard and ///M sport so it's consistent across models and years.

Thanks cj10 for taking the time to spec it out. Appreciate it!

Forgot to say - don't struggle trying to fix the bracket on with it on the floor. Undo the 4 seat bolts in less than 2 minutes, tip the seat back fully forward then you can tilt the entire seat back and work on it. No need to even disconnect the loom (and risk an airbag warning)
