First Aid Boxes Under The Drivers Seat

I was driving home last night through the Cotswolds pressing on and "making progress" :driving:

Under heavy braking my first aid box under the passenger seat flew forward and hit the front of the footwell. Now this didn't cause me any problem as I just popped it back in when I got home but that got me thinking about people who have swapped the first aid box to the drivers side.

If you have one under the drivers seat I would double check it's secure  as I crapped my pants and it was only the passenger side.

I had both come loose at a track event. since then I pull them out prior to the events.

ita held in place with screws so i am at a bit of a loss as to how in came loose or do you mean the contents,,, in which case your lid must be falty

not mine, both are held in place by a plastic clip

Mine are both held in with. 3 large self tappers direct into the seat frame . You would have thought the attatchment method would be the same .

Mine has popped off before too. On the ones I installed the bracket is held in with 3 screws, and then the first aid box clips into the bracket. I am kind of glad it is easily removable because the self-adhesive felt lining I put in has started to come unglued in the hot weather so now I got to replace it.

There is a bracket which screws into the seat with the 3 screws. However, the First Aid box slides into the bracket and is just held in place by quite a flimsy plastic tab. I could easily see how it could come out under heavy braking, especially if there was anything heavy in it.

Here are some photos:

I fitted new boxes on both sides and I wanted to remove them to line with fabic - I found them a real sod to get out so I didnt bother.

Make sure that they have "clcked" properly into place and not just pushed hard back!
