Well i`ve owned my z4 3.0 e89 for 12 days now and the comments recieved so far have been quite interesting, such as "flash c***", "w****r", to "oh yes i love that car man", "i want one of those". Then there is other road users, from getting the finger and other hand gestures,to the many thumbs up. I didn`t realise life in a z4 would be so interesting, it really does put big grin on your face whatever the comments/gestures are.
so that got me to thinking what sort of comments/gestures do you guys get. But i should add the majority is for the positive. Mods so far just the stubby, looking at some wheels but undecided as to choice so far,got to get off these bridgestone rft`s. Currently 326m`s, might sell them on or keep them with winter rubber.

I havent even got the car yet but here are some of the comments I have got from friends...

"I could smoke you in an RS6 Estate!", Me "What car do you drive?" them "A Seat Leon TDI" Me" I will smoke your Leon in my Z4 and when you get your pretend RS6 then I will race you with my pretend Veyron"

"Nice wheels, going for the James bond look"

Boss "I pay you too much"

Bro "Not my kind of car but I want a shot"

Mostly others "Niiiceeeeee"

Kevin on BabyBMW and on here now "I need to copy you"

there are always jealous people out there, no matter what car you drive. this topic has been covered before and as correctly mentioned by members in the other post, most of the other cars on the road are more expensive but maybe in a more conservative look than Z4's and that's why people keep talking about them.

I have had similar comments from my boss, we pay you too much or our operators, you keep saying you don't get paid enough! like it's any of their business how I live my life :x

enjoy your car and ignore the stupid comments, just pure jealousy :P

Yeah, I blame you for all of it!

Do other drivers really give the finger when they see the Z4. Thats not nice!

Funny, as a woman I don't get any of the negative stuff, just rude gesticulations by van and lorry drivers

Keep your wheels though the 326M are lush

When i picked mine up from BMW yesterday after some warranty work there was a very nice young lady waiting for her Z as well. Both of us were sitting there with massive grins waiting for our joy to be returned (loaner countryman cooper s was a bag of s**t!)

We both pulled out of BMW smiling and gave each other a good bye wave :P

I don't yet own a z, but have always spent my money on cars which are a little different or stand out.

The comments from work colleagues annoy me 'you earn to much etc'
When I point out then spend £40 on a night out 2x week and that's around £4200 a year, of which I rarely do they shut up, or mutter 'well you don't have a social life'

Not much, had a couple people take a picture at asda lol when I was putting roof down

I don't pay much attention tbh, had a couple cara trying to race , including a diesel evoque lol

Must add one guy at work comments "don`t like white cars, get dirty to quick. Oh yeah what you drive then, er silver asta van. Another says your paid to much, well thats because i`m THE BOSS.

The only comment (light-hearted banter really) I've experienced at this pre-ownership stage was from one of my work mates.

I told him I was getting the Z4 and he immediately asked when I was going in for the operation... Slightly confused by this, I asked if he was trying to say it was a girls car and I needed a sex change? He replied with "No no no... I just wondered when you are having male genitalia attached to your face cos we all know that BMW drivers are dickheads!"

It was all in good humour so I congratulated him on his wittiness and moved on to ripping his 2003 Mondeo diesel...

Coupe and dark tint mean I can't really be seen in it, so don't get much grief at all.

Most people here don't know what it is, although the plate does give them a clue ;-)

These cars attract a lot of attention, mostly good !
I'm sure driving through the centre of Glasgow on a sunny day is going to be very entertaining, I'll get called names I never knew before. :o

I drive the car, not the badge and don't worry too much about what others think.

When we first got the MINI a few people yelled at us to "Go Back to England" -- One time Debbie was able shout back Yn byw ym Mangor. (Live in Bangor.) I just laugh, since we are both Americans.

Dunno what will happen with the Z4. Cars like that usually only show up during the summer or bank holiday weekends. I don't think there is another e89 on Anglesey. There is one Audi A8 and it stands out.

The Duchess of Cambridge drives a very plain looking Audi A3.

I have had my Z4 for over 2 years and dont remember ever getting a rude comment. Its been all good on my side. People with rude comments are usualy the people who are thinking 'lucky sod, i want one of those' :D

You have had your car for two years and have made 11 posts :poke:

Too much driving perhaps :D

Have now had my car two years and three days and 51,500 smiles :driving:

The missus and I have been out and about at night lately with the roof down.

Have had other drivers beeping and waving at us in approval.

Here in NI nobody really would dare say anything to your face unless they were very stupid or just kids but you do need to be careful where you park.

I was attacked by about 12 youths with water bombs last summer. They were not just having fun either. They really wanted to cause grief as they had been pelting the Belfast Marathon runners that day and I just happened to turn up in a vert at the traffic lights. Wrong time wrong place :x
