Come live in Edinburgh.........fireworks only seem to have a few weeks off a year. Any event and they have fireworks. I see people get excited for fireworks, I used to be like that but 6 or more displays a night except sunday nights in August and well they've lost their appeal.
I do get a cracking view so can't complain too much

Last year, I had a single ignition barrage that was bigger than that (although it was £150) 
I tend to just do aerial stuff now, and get about £1000 worth of rockets - all the way from the 5 x 8" bottle rockets for £5 to the £40 per rocket stuff (which weigh about a kilo).
Even with simultaneous ignitions you can easily make them last 45-60m
If you want inspiration (and discounts at certain suppliers), then have a look at the UK Firework Review website/forum.

That's a fair reduction to what I used to spend, and didn't spend anything at all this year.ben g said:

Anyway, it's not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things, and it keeps 20-40 kids/adults busy for a night.
I buy fireworks but don't use them until later in the year for birthdays etc. Always helps a party along!
