i used to have a forest arch escort and a box arch escort, many, many moons ago :thumbsup:

What made you sell it?!? :cry: Was great seeing this thing going round the corners sideways. Most entertaining to watch out of all the cars by a country mile!!! :driving:
 
Looked at how far away this event was when you posted - a little too far to visit but it looked a tremendous day.

Your welcome! :thumbsup: would have loved to see some z4 forum drivers up at this but I do understand that I live in the middle of nowhere....aka Scotland. :lol:
 
Nice photos.

I'm lucky in that Loton Park near Shrewsbury is only 40 minutes or so from me. I usually go there a couple of times a year and it is always a great day out.

They weren't worth anywhere near what they are now, I'm going back more than 25 years and yes they were awesome cars for driving sideways :thumbsup:

Check out number 31 the Caterham in the saltire colours reg P 7 HPC ,that's my old 7 being used for hill climbing
That was a proper quick car 520 kg and 210 BHP 170ftlb
Very noisy on twin 48s and a straight cut box
Gordon who bought it from me owns the Atholl hotel in Aberdeen

Just looking at the spec right now and owner and you are spot on!! :thumbsup: It sounded great but the Caterham super7 (number 30) was probably the greatest sounding one! I may invest in one.... :rofl:

Thank you! :thumbsup: Many car enthusiasts there and nothing stopping any member of the public talking to the drivers or helping them out! Would definitely recommend it to anyone living in the north east.

Just looking at the spec right now and owner and you are spot on!! :thumbsup: It sounded great but the Caterham super7 (number 30) was probably the greatest sounding one! I may invest in one.... :rofl:

if youre buying a 7 then you need to be careful about the noise levels -i found the straight cut quiaffe box to be rather intrusive and while the 48s make a lovely sound on full chat ,it can become rather tiresome on a long run in conjuction with the megaflow competitio exhaust . All my 7s have been on carbs as i like the old school look and sound -however they need a lot more fettling than either fuel injection/throttle bodies .Also the VX lump is heavier than the k series or sigma engines but is totally bomb proof and in terms of bang for bhp the VX is hard to beat . Ive never been a fan of the Rover k series engine as its a bit brittle -but if you speak other Caterham owners it seems to be most popular ,unless you go for Sigma or Duratec power . I also had a lovely bespoke Westfield S8 but it wasn't a patch on any of my Caterhams .

Have been looking about for a while and not too sure which direction I want to go. I will be keeping the z4 as I love how quiet it can be on long journeys and when you want to floor it, its great fun! Was looking at a z3 to cobra conversion which would cost just under £5k including the car. I am really not a fan of the looks on a z3...but with the looks of a cobra however... :thumbsup: Will give it time and see what my head is thinking in a few months time. :)
