Hi all

I have been member of the site for a while, looking for my idea z4 - its took me a while, but I think I may have found it!

I am going to travel 3.5 hours on Wednesday next week , would've been Monday but its a Bank holiday so no banks open :-(

The car is a 2006 2.5Si, lovely colour, low miles and hopefully fine condition, and I cannot wait! It has msport seats, mf steering wheel, and its a lovely colour! I may have mentioned that already...

I will post picks when I get the car - don't want to tempt fate really...

It has the 108 style split rim alloys, and I am looking to replace the centre caps straight away - can anyone confirm the diameter of these? I have seen loads for sale on ebay, but sizes vary...links to perfect set would be appreciated!

Going to buy some eibachs almost immediately, after that I will just wait and see

Cant wait to see it, buy it, and show it off! :driving:

68mm on the centres ,
don't suppose the "lovely" colour is Phoenix Yellow ?
Not had one on the scene for far too long :(

It is indeed phoenix yellow, with two tone leather interior (black and yellow) plus, as a bonus, leather dash!

I just hope its as good as it looks, I am too fussy for my own good sometimes...

Was looking for the 3.0si, but this came up I thought roof down, it wont make too much difference...

Previously owned a Mountuned Mp350 Focus RS in ultimate green - I actually got bored with straight line speed, though I did like that the colour stood out ;-)
 
I wonder if its "Dewi"s ex car ? Sounds mighty like it although i thought that had dark Mv2s on :?
Great colour , possibly my all time favourite BMW paint shade 8)
 
Well, I couldn't wait til Wednesday, so I caught the train to Perth to view the car today.

I was nervous as hell - had the seller described the car honestly? Is his view of excellent the same as mine? What does he mean "excellent for the year" - is that excellent or just for the year...aaargghhh!!

Anyway, Bob (the seller) was amazing - as honest about his cars as I am sure he runs his business - the car was as described, and in my opinion, exceptional condition, and a genuinely good, honest petrol head - he had a TVR Griffith for his 40th and a Caterham next to the z!

He even brimmed the tank with BP super unleaded for me - great fella.

ANyway the car - and a few initial observations following my 200 mile drive home:

The sound is epic- I was so pleasantly surprised with the exhaust note - given its the 2.5si and standard exhaust, I was well chuffed.
Its low - first time in a Z4, so getting in and out is an event!
It handles brilliantly, even on the runflats - very happy there;
The M wheel is well chunky - proper girth!
The m seats are narrow...
The heating is fab!
The roof down feel is exactly as I thought it would be, and why I wanted a roadster - I giggled like a school girl all the way home :-)
I love the interior colour - better in real life than photos show;
I love the phoenix yellow - it stands out, which I like, and it almost changes colour - from yellow, to gold, to green? at times..could be just my eyes mind...
Stereo isn't great - I am guessing no subs, but with roof down, not too fussed.

That's all I can think for now, but I will add more as I drive it!

So happy I went for the z, this one in particular as I was toing an froing between z4, 350z and mazda mx5!

Very nice, was nearly tempted to go and see this at the weekend, love the colour.

I am so glad you didn't go and see it, cos then it wouldn't be mine!

There was somebody on the phone while I was viewing the car - seller said he only had two phone calls, but loads of emails.

I must admit, I emailed initially, but talking to him was much better, clarifying stuff.

A very patient seller, answered all my qns, and picked me up at the station.

All round a good day oot!!
