Hi boys and girls,

Finally got round to joining this forum. I live in Malta and have owned my 06 2.5L for over a year now and still love every time I drive it!

One thing I have been wanting to know for a while is how to to a proper standing burnout in the car. Have attempted a number of times with dropping the clutch and switching my left foot to the brake but seems that some electronic business kicks in and cuts the power... then the engine. Is this just a factory thing that I'll have to live with??

Look forward to being part of the chat.

Hello

You need to turn DSC fully off, as this will stop power due to lack of traction

Welcome Ade - press and hold the DTC button for about 3 or 4 secs, a warning triangle will light up on the dash - that's all electronic aids off. Good to go

Oh, and let me be the first to say

:worthless:

Especially as you live in such a lovely place 8)

Why does some smart-alec always have to do this? Next will be a post about a stubby. Two most annoying things about this forum.

Welcome aboard Ade :)

Still has to be said though  :worthless: :poke:

ha is this how things go on here?? good to know ;)

re tyres... na not cheap, just cheap roads in malta + the heat gives a sweet skid pan. issues are the pot hole and random cracks which are always a nice surprise.

i had the DTC completely off (rarely drive with it on) but there seems to be some overwriting thing when you press the brake and accelerator at the same time. has anyone managed to pull it off?
