Finally made a decision

Hi, I'm Paul, from Fife in Scotland.
Having been a member of the MX5 forum for a few years, running a 98 S plate 1.8 that is a labour of love due to rust.....
I have been looking at early 2.5 Boxsters, second generation SLKs and of course the Z4.
The Boxsters worried me because of the IMS issue that can destroy the engine....., the Merc SLKs generally bullet proof, but didn't have the kerb appeal for me, and not as dynamic to drive....which led me to the Z4, always been an admirer and have had a few BMWs over the years, currently a 13 plate 520d SE which is a great piece of machinery and a lovely place to be to eat up the work miles (company car). So placed my deposit today on a 2.5se in black, 54 plate with FSH and 3k worth of options when new in metallic black with 2 owners. I'm looking forward to the 250 mile drive back to Scotland! :driving:

Welcome to the forum, look forward to the piccies! Enjoy the collection (and following drive) - I'm sure you'll enjoy it :D

Sounds lovely! Congratulations on the new car! Mine was a 2004 also, in black too. Hope you aren't driving back in the dark as daytime might be easier to enjoy an unfamiliar car. You'll enjoy either way. Just be careful on the damp roads. :driving:

Welcome from another newbie. I have a MX5 as well as my newly acquired zed, and can honestly say you will love it. My problem now will be not giving the MX5 enough use....but it does give me the excuse to make it a track only car :)

Guys, thanks for the warm welcome from you all, will post pics once I have got it back up the road.

Hi and welcome, sounds like you have bought a beauty. Looking forward to some pics!
