Finally got to put in the aero bumper

and so after a total of 5 hours trying to adjust and adjust and adjust the bumper and eventually the headlights, i'm a bit happy with my diy.

the aerokit bumper isn't a straight swap, for instance, i took out 7 hex screws at bottom mount points from the original bumper and only 4 hex screw holes for the aerokit. as you can see in the pictures the bottom isn't flushed well and there's bending on the end most mount points :?

basically all you need are:
torx 20 for the headlight adjustment
allen wrench set
precision screw driver set
hex set, or actually only hex size 8

pictures are during the diy and as you can see from the initial installation the gap of the headlights and bumper was just too wide. problem with the zed is you have to take off the bumper to adjust the headlights so there was a lot of trial and error since i don't have a measuring device at hand.

anyway next step is off to the detailers to polish off the paint on the aerokit bumper...

thanks mike,

as for the side skirts, it is tempting, but i guess not at the moment since i need to replace my a/c compressor-expansion valve-filter drier and new set of shoes

after that is suspension upgrades... mfsw with paddle shift (cj i need your help on this  )... and finally strut bar

then maybe the side skirts :D

Looks really good.
Surprised you took 5 hours adjusting as it's a given that the headlights need moving once you change front ends. I think each moulding is slightly different and there are different screws on most of the lower edge to undertray combinations.

Don't forget you'll need to readjust your beams now you've moved the lights

EDIT - happy to advise on the paddle shifts - that's a fun upgrade

thanks phil,

yup waiting for night time to adjust my lights and yup it took me 5 hours total. 2 hours to do the first install last week, then had to leave town for work, just got back today to continue and re-adjust the lights and bumper to my liking and it took me 3 hours. the alignment seems to move out of position when i tighten on some screw so had to re do it for like around 5 times hahaha

i'll take you on your advise regarding the paddle shifts :D can't wait for that one too

Key to the adjustment seems to be to get the cross at the joint of the bonnet, wing, light and bumper cover right. Once you have that then work on the outer edge of the light so it's not too far in ot out relative the bumper cover. One of those things that easier to do and visualise than explain.

The adjusters are pita though as you loosen enough to move the light and it moves everywhere except the direction you wanted
