finally got round to it....

well, yesterday and today i took the chance to get a few jobs done;
1. wrapped the outer rings in 3m carbon, took about an hour - as quite fiddly to get right without bubbles etc

2. changed over to winter wheels and painted the calipers orange, calipers had two coats, but really need another coating....


As you can probably tell - i like orange and black under the arches = summer wheels:


3. Fitted Gaptech OTH module - no pics as not worth looking at.....Simple to install, comprehensive instructions very clear with photos, so cant go wrong. Makes dropping the top at 5 degrees almost a pleasure

4. Refreshed the drivers seat - passenger seat is hardly used and almost perfect so no work required. There was paint on the back rest and and a load of scratches from what i guess is a stud from jeans (there when i bought the car). Used scuff master - bought from Navidv in the summer i think - anyway, cant recommend this stuff enough - great results. The 'before' shots dont show the damage in full, i.e its even worse than you see, and the 'after' shots dont show it as well as it ended up, in real life looks much better.

5. Finally, washed the outside and vacuumed the inside. Was too dark by then to take any pics - but im sure you can imagine it

I don't see why not. The kit I got from Navid was their 'classic' kit comes with base colour dye, in this case black, a gloss enhancer which I didn't use, a toner to darken I guess and lightener, if needed to you could mix until colour was right. There is a 'modern' kit too which may be more likely to match dreamred.

I think if you check their site, it states what colours they do and as been mentioned, they come with few other darker and brighter bits that you can mix and get the right colour shade.

To clarify the stubby IS Orangey. Was black, but bought off eBay for about 4 quid and the anodized aluminum has been weathered to this orangey like effect, is almost a cross between bronze and brass in real life. Have been meaning to change it for a while but can't decide whether I like it or not.

Navid is right, they change to aftermarket lights has been documented on here and they're also eBay acquisitions

Aquazi, the orange on the lights was the inspiration for orange lug holes on the summer wheels but I the chance of these lights came up for something like 80 quid and seemed too good to pass up. Thoughts were its cheap route to modernising the front. As an aside, the summer wheels are gonna get repainted over winter and lose the orange highlights. Prob WON'T stay black either. Just need to decide on the colour......
