Finally got my Coupe! EDIT - New Wheels Fitted + Other Mods!

The previous owner is a top guy, really into his BMW's and knew his beans about them too. It was a bit hardball to get the price down but we negotiated to a deal I'm happy with, especially since the car is a fair bit below book price anyway.

Unfortunately I suffer from a bit of OCD and a few little scratches and scuffs will need to be sorted by my repairer but apart from that I'm chuffed to bits, the paint, being dark is full of swirls and therefore requires a good correction by a detailer asap. The interior seriously is like a new car, it even smells new. I will still be fully cleaning and treating the leather though when I get chance.

As it has Nav & Bluetooth, can I fit an IPhone4 adaptor in the cubby hole to operate the iPod function? If so can someone advise me on what I need?
It has an Aux connection but I don't really like cables hanging around plus using the phone could end up with me getting a tug from plod.

Cheers

Tom

Thanks guys I really am over the moon with it - can't get used to the fact that it's mine! I already have "The Fear" when leaving it places...

So what are everybody's recommendations for iPhone integration? I have my Bluetooth connection set up but I'm not keen on using the Aux input as I don't like cables hanging around. I'd like to make use of the cubby hole phone area, but I'm not sure if that allows me to use the iPod function through my Nav screen and M/F wheel? Does anyone have any links to the dock I need to use for this to be possible?

Secondly, then Xenon lights are awesome, but does the innermost 'bulb' illuminate? The outer ones are fine but the inner ones dont light up at all, also the "Angel Eyes" seem a little dim?

Cheers

Tom

Lovely car... really nice colour combination, great spec and in amazing condition!

on my car (prefacelift) - the innermost light is for full-beam - it's probably the same on yours - try pulling the indicator stalk towards you to flash the full-beams...

Great looking car. Congrats! Very nice interior as well. See that all passengers had a good wash before entering!

Inner most light part on facelift xenon is dummy, all done by the outer light.

Tapatalking on my iPhone.......

The beauty of this car is really starting to turn me to the coupe side :?. That champagne interior is gorgeous!

Fully clayed and Autoglym Super Resin Polished the car this afternoon.

It still needs a machine polish to remove the swirls, but my god it looks good now!

Thanks for the comments guys!

Lastly, now I'm in a BMW, I've noticed other road users seem to have an arse on with me eg not letting me out of junctions, trying to goad me into racing etc. Think I need to be a lot more relaxed and let stuff wash over me now. Did anyone else get this with their first BMW?

I never had this in my 6 series or my Coupe but I do get a bit of it in my 3 series compact.. down to ignorance at the end of the day.

Does anyone have any ideas on my quiery about the iPhone snap in adaptor operating the iPod function through the sat nav screen? Is this possible or am I stuck with the aux cable?

Not all stereos are set up for full iPod integration! You will need to check first. The iPhone cradle is around £150 with music function, £100 without! Or you can buy a number of aftermarket modules, but make sure it is compatible with your iPhone as they changed the way it charges. iPhone 3 onwards uses 5v charging not 12v. I had this issue when I installed my iPhone dock in the ashtray. I had to buy an adapter the enable it to charge!

Yeah I've seen the iPhone 4 media cradle, I just wanted to know if it will integrate with my nav screen once fitted? I'm happy to buy that one as long as it will work

Man, the interior looks really glamourous and matches the rare colour of the car. Jealous and genuinely impressed.
