Finally got a Z so thought I should join up!

I'd certainly be interested to see how you get on with the Connects kit Craig. It will be a few months until I take the plunge and get one as need 2 new rear tyres (getting 4 and ditching the runflats though) and a service as it is just over 2 years (but only 2k miles) since it was last done. I need to dig out the history and see what was done last time towards the end of 2007 when it was in the stealers.

Ocean BMW down this way have a fixed price service for cars over 4 years old @ £130 for an oil service, 217 for ins I and 305 for ins II. Does that sound competive?

The 108's are literally as new. I have wondered if they have been re-furbed but considering the mileage and that the car had never been out in the rain (till the day I collected it) they probably are original.

Having another look at the Ocean BMW site I also found:

"Got a low cost quote for servicing your BMW? We won't just match it. We'll stamp on it.

Don't let any 'specialists' try to convince you their prices for servicing a BMW to BMW standards are lower than ours.

Instead, get a written quotation, stating that the work will be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements, using Genuine BMW Parts and detailing the oil manufacturer and grade they will use and we promise to match it*.

Apart from guaranteed quality and the satisfaction of dealing with one of BMW UK’s appointed dealers, you'll enjoy the enhanced value of an Ocean stamped service record when it comes to selling your car."

They also invite folks from the souh east/london to bring their cars to cornwall for servicing if they are on holiday down this way to avoid the Labour charges in the south east.

I will pop in and check them out when I get home from work in a couple of weeks.

Markyboy,re the connects kit,i am hoping to have it fitted in the next 4-6 weeks(weather permitting/as no garage!),so will post on here as and when done. am looking forward to it also,so can have proper use of the ipod nano my fiance got me in xmas 2008! (fm transmitter is not great/roll on the connects being ftd, lol) :D

as for the service costs, for anywhere in the lower half of england, that sounds fair. my local dealer up here in west scotland is around those prices too,and they are very good.(i also get 10% discount with my bmw car club discount/so worth the cc subs fee). :driving:
