Finally Getting the MC out of Storage!

Hi all,

No real point to this post - I'm just quite excited that the M will finally be coming out of winter hibernation this weekend! :)

Current plan is;

1. Spring Service (oil/filter, suspension checkover) next week
2. Fiddle about with the rear suspension top-mounts
3. Possibly remove the Schmeidmann Splitter as I cant tell if I like it or not - and to be honest it's immaculate at the moment having done Zero miles since fitting (I put it on last year as the car went into storage), and I'd rather sell it in mint condition than clatter it on a speedbump!

I've got an evening Track session booked at Donington on 17th April, and a Ring TF weekend booked 12th May - can't wait!

Some pics from when I put it away into storage, just because;

Yep, exciting time of year getting ready to hit the black stuff again.
Btw my eyes were instantly drawn to the miniature Martini racing liveried 911 in the back ground!

:lol: Yeah there was some pretty interesting gear floating around in the storage unit that's for sure! I think my car was parked between a GT2RS and a Mclaren Senna...!

8) Looking mean on those dark CSL's :thumbsup:

Alas nothing to get out and play with at the moment. :( Made even worse when my neighbour rocked up in a very tasty Z4 to replace his Stag. A Silver Grey E86. He thought mine was still tucked in the garage. Told him it is no more. :cry: Must get looking again. :)

:lol: I can't tell if you're prodding me after the recent 'CSL' thread on here or not :roll:

Either way the alloys are Apex EC-7s - I rather like them but wish I had 9j fronts instead of 8.5j as the concavity jumps significantly on the 9js!

You definitely need to get looking for another Zed - I always enjoyed your Dartmoor driving threads and how often you used yours :)

Me being lazy, clearly not CSL's. but similar enough, based on the CSL style, but a bit more butch I guess.

Definitely missing the Zed. :( But finding it hard to get motivated about another sports car still. Too much mountaineering I think. :)

I admire your willpower Ed. :thumbsup:

As much as SORNing mine over winter would save me quite a bit of money I can't bring myself to do it!

After stomaching the bill for a new set of intrax after the old set was seized solid from years of being run through winter and neglected, honestly I couldn't bear the thought of running it over winter! Hence I've been (not so) patiently waiting for the weather to warm up! Probably a bit premature as its not very nice forecast, but I have to get the service sorted and some suspension tweaking done well in advance of April's trackday so needs must!

Well that makes sense - I bet the bill for Intrax was eye-watering! :(

Definitely worth getting it to its best before Donington. :thumbsup:

Oh, I can. Then again we have several other vehicles, but spending over £50/month on something that is sat under a sheet in the garage seems a bit of a waste.

We didn't bother when we ived in Devon, but now we're Oop North where they salt the roads for 4 months of the year, it ain't going anywhere.
