Finally Finished (maybe!)

Finally finished the overhaul of the zed after she'd spent 18 months unused and looking very sad. Don't have a before picture but she was in a bad state to say the least. Wheels were knackered, lights were scratched up, bumpers were both covered in scratches and dents, had a nettle growing into the engine bay and the interior was covered in mould from a leak in the boot.

Basically it was either sell her off for parts or invest some serious money in getting her back to health. I chose the latter. In total I think I've spent at least £4-5k but I stopped counting a while ago. It had to be done so it's not worth stressing over the amounts.

Work done included

New wheels and tyres
New front lights
New front bumper
New rear bumper
New badges
New springs.
New suspension.
New disks and pads
New side indicators
New 3rd brake light
New Pioneer stereo
New 600w subwoofer
Full service
Full detailing

Plus loads of little bits and bobs like cup holders, gear knob etc etc. The list is as long as my arm.

Anyway, here she is back from the grave. It's been a nice process to give her a new lease of life.

I'll get some proper photos done at some point but this is the best I can do for now

Looking very tidy. You have done a good job on bringing the z back from the potential breakers yard.

Haha thanks mate, yeah I love my new (your old) wheels! Still struggling a bit with rubbing on the front but I'll get it there!

You've done a great job saving a sad Z4.

Now it's time to enjoy it!

Shame you didn't take a before shot. :( Looks awesome now and another one saved from the breakers. Got to keep these Zeds on the road

I know, I was a bit ashamed of her tbh so didn't think of taking photos, it wasn't until I started working on her that I got a few shots.

Here's a small indication of what she was like. The last image shows the mould creeping in from the hood into the boot.

Honestly the whole interior was covered in mould spots. If it'd been left any longer I'd have found mushrooms in there!

Definitely worth the effort IMO, you've done a great job OP. Any further plans?

Thanks mate! As im sure you know looking at your lovely coupe, there's always something more to spend a few quid on, but for my bank balance and relationship's sake, I'll give it a while before I do anything too big again....

He says...
