Finally!!! (CAUTION: yellow M seat content!)

a11y, If someone offered you any colour combo of the M seats where would that combo come in the list?

Honestly?

1. black/white(silverstone?)
2. all-black
3. black/yellow
4. all-red
=5. black/red
=5. black/blue

I'm not sure what other colour combo's are available, but I admit I'm not a fan of the black with red or blue highlights too much yet strangely like the yellow. All-red is good in the correct external colour (don't think I can ever again call all-red seats as too bright ). All black are classy and could be called the safe option. I was looking at black with white (silverstone?) highlights recently and would probably rate them as my favourite combo I think.

nice touches on the finishing work....but yellow and silver really dosent work for me......
I certainly know they won't be for everyone - I'm usually quite a reserved person too. It took me an afternoon to warm to the idea of the colour against my paintwork, but very glad I gambled.

It would most likely grow on me...and you are right there are not to many options for a silver car and 2 tone interiors. I do applaud the ambition.

A11y some thoughts on your next steps..

- clear side repeaters (still to buy) .... i think this is a smart move not sure orange goes with yellow.
- possibly tri-colour M wheel ... why? IMHO all black M sport would match in better with the interior.
- possibly black air vents/headunit but then I'd have to change the light switches and the instument binnacle hoods...
my 2005 has black stereo and vents but silver instrument binacle covers looks fine .
I'm with Jax the idea of the yellow brake calipers had crossed my mind last night.

They look great, cleaned up really nice.

This is a colour combination not permitted by BMW so you have a completely unique car there, unlikely to see another one, are you.

Very, very, very nice !
Thanks :)

Rob, yeah those are my initial thoughts too. Now that I've acquired M seats I'll be focussing more on clear headlights (these took a backseat). Clear sides are easy/cheap. Rear ambers should be gone through red-tinting the standard lights. I've already got a spare headunit with black faceplate so just need central vents and possibly the lights switch panel to the right of the wheel (is this black on yours too?). Currently undecided about the calipers TBH.

Tri-colour wheel purely because there's that seller on Ebay Germany selling retrimmed wheels at a good price. Black would be just as good though. Hmm, black wheel with spoke trims painted yellow - possibly a step too far lol.

Thanks Mike. Perhaps BMW know better? Who knows! It's certainly different that's for sure.

Can't get the bloke in germany to retrim one with yellow stiching ?

what about silver calipers with EBC Yellowstuffs 8)

Could always give it a try and see what you think. If you don't like it at least most of the groundwork will have been done and it won't take much longer to paint them another more *ahem* subtle colour.

Really looking forward to seeing these new seats on the Oban run. Just as well Nosa isn't coming or he might get jealous that his wheels aren't getting the attention!

Defo different, I did consider these myself but the other half wouldn't let me, not sure wht they'd look like with Sterling Grey.

WOW

How did I miss this thread,,, Nice work a11y, As always your attention to detail is enviable.

Can't wait to see this in the flesh, And certainly bright enough to outshine my Rims :poke:

Sorry to say though Mrs Nosa said she doesn't like it, But then she has no taste, look who she married :? :?

I sooooo had to bite my tongue when ZermattV posted this in the Oban run thread last Monday, knowing full well I'd have the Z4 "yellowified" by then...

they could film it all on black and white film............

Nosa, NOTHING will take the shine off your rims 8)

And LOLing at all the chav images

Wow A11y, they are certainly different, the first pic had me running for the hills.

But as you scroll down them they are definately a grower and I can see why you plumped for them, this from a man who will go against virtually everyone on this forum and walk away from any car with Red Leather seats, I just can't stand them.

How do find them against the 'standard' seats or is it to early yet.

I'm trying to resist the temptation, got other things planned (and the recent unplanned headlights) for the time being but would be curious as to whether the Black & White(Silverstone) seats would work in a Sterling Grey.

Wot new wheels Nosa :poke:
