Just picked up my 28i and got home. Well chafed with the car :D

Initial impressions:
1. Much better view from the front
2. But rear view is a bit worse
3. In comfort mode with adaptive suspension and RFT, bumps on the road felt less server
4. Ditto for noise (my e86 had non RFT)
5. Engine sounds tiny bit less interesting up to 2500 revs but only if you are listening out for it
6. Sports seat is much better then standard e86 seat

Only a run home drive but so far very pleased!

P.s. No pics I'm afraid full it's detailed next week

Congrats on the new car. I think the 28i is probably the best all round Z ... and with power useable more of the time.

Are you really chafed with the car? Which part of it is rubbing you and making you sore? :poke:

Congrats mate, look forward to seeing some pics!!

Hope that the detailing is at the early part of the week. Cannot wait forever for pics!

Oh, hope you enjoy the car! :driving:

:worthless: but congrats! Oh and the adaptive suspension is ace  I find it makes the car less giggly and hard in 'sport' whilst going over cobbles. Even my passengers have commented on it.

Enjoy. Hopefully a nice weekend for roof off action :driving:

Thanks guys  my predictive txt is playing havoc again!

When I got home, I put my 2 years old in the passenger seat and showed her the roof down action. She said "daddy, the window (pointing to the roof) is broken, I'm scary". I'll have the car to myself for a little while yet :)

It's Iain Brown from finer detailing that's doing my car next weekend. I have to say he'd been incredibly patient and accommodating, I'll put his effort on the forum next Sunday

Just don't let her see transformers or she may think there is one on the drive. My 4 year old nephew knows cloth roofs are convertibles but lost his mind with a folding metal roof and electric seats! And he'd of blead the battery dry!

Enjoy it and we will all wait patiently for the results

Haha, don't think of transformer. I might sample the transformer sound (you know the sound they make when they transform) and play it as I open/close the roof. Watch kids bemused :D

Glad you are pleased with it - enjoy!
Sport seats would be way better than your E86 SE had - I test drove an E86 SE and quickly realised I needed to find a Sport purely for the seats!

Glad to hear you enjoying the car, and appreciate sometimes less is More :D

Your concerns should dis-aper - as I don't regret from an straight six to an lightweight 4 pot

Also glad to know there is another 2.8 in the room

Thanks Twin

I actually asked my missus to drive it for a bit this afternoon - just so that I can stand outside and hear the engine. Honestly, you couldn't tell it's a 4 pot :D now, if I can find a quicker way of running it in.......

lol

Had mine for 9 months - and wife is not driven it yet, especially when she kerbed by alloys on my old car

Let your good missus have a go - if she likes it, she might let you buy the new Z4 (coming out 2020?) when it arrives :)
