An increasing number of people have become concerned about the Z4 discussion in the new posts list being diluted by posts from the lounge (such as single word thread, increase postcount etc).
This situation is affecting peoples enjoyment of the forum and we are in danger of losing members due to this. I do not like to impose restrictions on people, nor tell them they should or should not view the list in full, so I have developed a compromise solution.
If you go into your control panel you will see a tab USERLISTS. In there there is a list of groups, one being exc_lounge_from_newposts. If you join this group it will mean lounge posts do not get included in your newposts list.
For the techies:
The way this works is simply by altering the behavior of the newposts search. It replaces the standard newposts url of search_id=newposts with search_id=newpostsz4. This means that if you so wish you could just bookmark the one you want, or both, if you like (so if the lounge posts seem to be flooding the list, you can switch).
I am sorry to have to do this, and we understand that people like to post in the lounge, but we cannot allow for peoples enjoyment of the forum as a whole to be reduced simply because some folks want to increase their post count.
