Filling with fuel

I know this will receive a lot of abuse :P

Now I have been driving for many years, and several of them in a Z, but never had this before.

My last two fill ups, at different garages. The pump clicks off, but as I withdraw the nozzle a couple of seconds later fuel seemed to spill from around the neck on the car & run down the paintwork.

I've certainly not changed the way I fill the car up, and initially put it down to a faulty pump....until it happened again.

Confused, have I somehow lost part of the car??? :headbang:

I never pull it straight out. After it clicks off leave it for 3/4 seconds then slowly pull it out.

Wiggling is the way. I hold the pipe up, give it a wiggle and usually that works.

Think of it as the same as going for a wee. You don't want wet boxers, so you give it a wiggle

Maybe the pumps are getting on a bit so even after you give it a good shake a few seconds later I little more dribbles out

Read the first 2 posts and thought to myself........who's gonna be 1st to pick this one up and "lower the tone/amuse us all" :?

Liking your wee captioned picture Perry

I also never take the nozzle out with it pointing down. As it gets to the edge I lower the hose so the exit of the nozzle is pointing up to reduce spillage further.

But that's the thing, I've always waited, wiggled, lifted hose etc, but all of a sudden it's all going wrong!

Perhaps it's an age thing lol
