Fiesta M-Sport

So it was a short 10 mile blast but it was very promising in std guise - sound was better than I expected although not as brilliant as the Abarth on start up.

Steering is well weighted - one I drove had lousy brakes as it had been stood for a while . Seats are a bit tricky to set up. It certainly has a good level of mid range grunt which I liked.

Been on the phone to two dealers regarding an M- Sport - it's being sold through about 8-10 dealers in the UK - order time about 10 weeks. Demo car will be at the West Mids dealer in the next few weeks Byron :poke:

i need to have a go in one, 215hp aren't they?? or 210.

TBh if your in the market for one, get a st-3 with all the toys and tune it yourself, their are so many packages available, 260hp can be achieved very easily, but id guess the MR230 is the sweet spot, putting in a faintly nuts 5.7 to 62mph.

Here is all the Gen...

But probably going to go for an ST-2 Based car in Blue at the moment Nav is only 99 quid on the ST2 so for me it seems the best spec.

I hear what you are saying about getting the work done myself but up in thee parts tuning companies are difficult to find and then charge very high rates so a one stop package like this appeals.

Not sure show long it will last on your driveway before its stolen.

i NEED to try one with the Diff, its an item on my hitlist.

I'll tread carefully here as i know there are a few owners/fans of the ST on here. But I just don't get the hype with this car. I drove an ST2 in the sort of habitat where hot hatches shine and was left wondering if i'd just drove the same car all the motoring journalists rave about. What car even claimed it was one of the best hot hatches ever. Perhaps my expectations were too high due to such reviews but i didn't even rate it as the best Fiesta i'd driven let alone one of the best hot hatches ever.

I think the OZ wheels look really small on the blue one above. There are loads on the used market, I'd think about leasing one so you don't have to dispose of it on the other side, or picking up a year old one?

Although, and I do like the ST, you can currently lease a Polo GTI or Ibiza Cupra for <200 a month, not sure about the Cupra's image but the Polo is much classier, if boring.
:D

I had an ST2 Fiesta for 3 months ... and added the Mountune kit to put it to 215bhp. It was a great little car. The acceleration (other than a massively torque restricted 1st gear) was great and it handled like it was on rails.

Why did I get rid of it - the seats, pure and simple. I just couldn't get comfy ... and always felt my thigh was raised off the drivers seat. Other than that the car was superb. No rattles. Just great fun. The seating position was a killer for me so, despite it being fun, it went ... replaced by a Z4 35iS

i guess not everyone can love it no need to tread carefully if you hate it , but i take solace in the fact i really rate it, as do 99% of the acclaimed motoring journalists... maybe we are all wrong... awesome car imo.

Oh, I don't hate it. I don't dislike the way it looks nor did I think the drive was dire. I just thought it was ok, no greater than that, so don't understand the accolades it has received.

I currently own a 205GTi though so it could be that I have a fresher experience of traditional hot hatch fun to measure it against. One reviewer saying it was a car that brought back the fun of the old school hot hatches is what prompted me to test drive one. To me it felt no closer to the 205 than any other modern hatch.

I had a shot in the 208 GTI as I was interested in a anniversary edition but found it very restrained and had a similar reaction to the one you had to the ST .

So in the end I have an M- Sport coming in two weeks -,the Autocar and Henry Catchpoles review in evo clinched it.

Well it's arrived and it's just a little bit epic - so far really enjoyed the experience certainly sings along - dealing with M-Sport has been great on all counts .

I had the a induction kit and sports exhaust fitted and I'm pretty delighted by the way it burbles,

Nice choice - good to hear you're enjoying the drive

Reminds me of the Escort Mexico (with the stripes) 0-60 in 10 seconds proclaimed the adverts in 1968! :D

I have one of these....

Faster and proper recaro seats

despite having more power and what you'd think better bits, the fiesta trounces it in every single test.... its never come out above in 1 test I've read, infact most are pretty negative about the corse, its just not on the STs level sadly...

that looks ace, more review needed!! just wait till you get to a back road, wow.... biggest car suprise I've had in the last decade. love mine! totally love it.

what does the induction kit sound like? the turbo is boosting high psi on this car, so i hope it doesnt make too much racket, i went with the mountune airbox for the airflow needed in a discreet way, even that i can still hear alot of turbo noises.
