FIAT 124 Spider

The question I have to ask is, why on earth would you buy one of these over an MX5 :? unless you want the FIAT engine :o

The Abarth version is a bit of a stunner - but I agree the std car is behind the MX-5.

Not for me either but then I'm not 18 which is clearly it's intended market given the chav/ricer makeup;

It gives a different choice styling wise - can't make my mind up. can't believe the review didn't show it from the outside with the roof up

I think it will be a great little roady ..Great looks and im sure it will be a hit..
The Abarth takes its design hints from the early rally abarths i think..

Cheap little convertible...

Correct the Abarth version takes its matt black bonnet from the original 1970s car rather than the Fast and Furious brigade .

My father in law had a look at the MX 5 before he bought his first Z4, i think the comments on it went..... too tight inside ( width ) too bling outside and a next to useless boot. I guess he'd have the same comment about the 124. It will ptobably be a good bargain in a couple of year though as its a FIAT.

Not in Abarth guise. It's a bit pricey. Standard is a cheap little runner. But the Abarth is fab. Had a look at the Abarth one......then started looking at the 500's the 695

I can't make my mind up on the looks, the front looks good almost SLK but looks a little awkward with the rear from some angles but overall I think might prefer it over the MX5 which looks a tad too small especially with the alloys Mazda use. Agree though the reviewer should have included a few drive by shots with the hood up

I like the overall shape of the body. White with a black bonnet is really cr@p - all black looks good. It's a pity that they can't find a more lively engine - bit of a let down for the Abarth brand. :(

Its not bad....

0-62mph is in the 6 second bracket.....

135mph...

Never gonna be M car performance but i would think it would have a good go at lesser models..

I dont think its aimed at the speed freak, more at people who want something quirky and individual...

I like it in standard spec (not black bonnet). Nice take on the classic 124 roadster. Adequate performance for a neat little retro sports roadster

First one gone to an owner in the UK - I think I'd be pretty happy with that one

I'd love one of these, fashion grey with tobacco leather. No roof motor to worry about.
These 124's look a lot nicer than the new MX-5. I just wish you could have some bigger wheels!
