Few zed vs boxter pics :-)

Perfect morning at last! My mate came over in his boxter S last night, so we got up early (ish) for a drive down towards Thruxton.

First time I've really driven the ///M with an intent to have proper fun. It didn't disappoint. I couldn't keep my foot off the loud pedal. The brakes are equally as impressive.

Found some brilliant roads which I didn't realise are on my doorstep, literally 4 miles from home I turn right at a junction daily for work. At said junction, I realised if I turn left there is some tarmac heaven. Lived here only a year, what a schoolboy error.

Anyway, good day out. The boxter seemed evenly matched but I think I had more fun trying to restrain the arse of the zed!

Not a huge amount to write about, but any opportunity to share pics and I jump.

I think I'm going to get a go-pro, or maybe something dirt cheap to start with. Today would have been brilliant for it.

I loved the difference between the rasp on the zed versus the boxter S which is also loud but deeper!

Having never spoken to someone who had been following me with my foot down, my mate said the zed smelt really "sweet" - and asked if I put additives in her. I always use V-power. So I smelt the back end of the porka - yes sounds weird - and same there! Almost smells like fumes off racing grade fuels. I guess it could be to do with the cats etc on them too. Or I could be talking cack.

Cheers Andy.

I do really like his car, it does have something special about it. Well a lot of things. But the zed looks more aggressive - I agree. Lots of details on the porka though make me jealous. The brake callipers are so nice, the Zed's in comparison honestly would look in place on a Mondeo :-(

Nice of you to wait for your mate.

I helped him with his over takes , the wee porka struggled getting past a few Sunday drivers [emoji16]

Great pics. Must have been missing the flop-top today, though? :)

You are comparing a coupe with a roadster..This is the one that is a comparison.

The cayman is a much nicer looking car than the Boxster. Still think the zed coupe looks brilliant..The cayman is a good looking car with epic handling. The engines have been known to fail though.

I am getting strangely drawn towards a Cayman, It all started last month when I saw a white one with Martini stripes...sounds so wrong..but looked so damn right..

The Zed has....presence! The Porsche just looks like an upside down bathtub!

My bathtub handles quite well thank you.

Doesn't the M have quite an advantage over the Box' S in HP ??

I test drove a Cayman S over the weekend, really wasn't impressed. It's a great handling car and feels super smooth, but just had no sense of occassion.

Whenever I get out of the Z, I have a stupid grin (as I did after my first test drive), the Cayman just didn't do the same for me.

Undoubtedly a better car, and I'm sure I'd have more confidence to get from A to B quicker, but I certainly wouldn't have as much fun.

A neighbour works for Dick Lovett Porsche marketing, and brings home some nice kit. I've seen the new Boxter and Cayman, both are lovely.
