few newbie questions

Hi,

Just picked up an M last night and haven't had a chance to read all the 50 million books that came with it.

I don't see an AUX port anywhere ? I thought AUX was added to all 2007 Z4s ? Planning to get an intravee some point soon ( along with a hard top) but need to offload my old Z first.

Is there a way to hack the oem TV so the screen stays on while driving ?

Only downside I found so far is the 2 second hill assist isn't long enough for me to get the whole clutching gear changing procedure happening !!! Not game to drive it in traffic yet, as I'm very n00b with manual cars.

Can't take any decent pics until the weekend - its dark by the time I get home.

The AUX was added to all 2007 as far as I know. It's above the ash tray on the underside of the bottom of the dash. On mine it is towards the right hand side and not in plain sight.

Will have to check the compliance plate, but I'm pretty sure its a 2007 build.

Possibly different in Australia?

Wouldn't have thought so.. but hey.. don't fret, it's a $40 AU part, and 10mins to fit :)

You can get plenty of TV-In-Motion cables from ebay, typically they are about $100.. which I always think it a bit steep.

You'll get used to the hill assist.. I find 2 seconds is plenty

Have fun !

BTW.. fancy a timeshare.. when I come to Aus I'll borrow yours, and I'll lend you mine ?

Was all ready to go for a drive last night but the battery had died. Just got clicking.

So ended up calling out the BMW roadside assist and they tested the battery and its voltage etc. was all ok. So he was unable to replace the battery. (according to his guidelines)
The car jumpstarted ok, but what bothers me is that it had been driven the previous day for about 2 hours, and ad no warning lights, and when it was started, it didn't chug or stammer - it started cleanly.

I suspect something drained it overnight... I've had it on a trickle charger since last night, so hopefully it starts ok tonight.
