Uh, oh, I can see the ribbing that this one will cause :?

The BMW Z4 is the only model to make both of our lists of vehicles with the highest percentage of female primary drivers. With 60.31 percent driven primarily by women, BMW’s sleek Z4 two-seater sports car tops our luxury-only list and ranks sixth on the all- encompassing list.

It has the kind of styling women gravitate toward, says Imre Molnar, dean of Detroit’s College for Creative Studies, home to one of the country’s top automotive design programs. The BMW Z4 has a “complex and sophisticated compound form that’s very feminine,” he says, adding that some women are attracted to so-called "masculine" designs, but most gravitate toward vehicles with softer curves.

Cars from Asian automakers tend to have styling that’s “much gentler, less aggressive,” Molnar says. Eight of the 10 models on our all-encompassing list of vehicles driven primarily by women are from Asian manufacturers.

Our lists include the top 10 vehicles with the highest percentage of female primary drivers based on CNW Marketing Research survey data. The lists do not account for yearly vehicle sales volumes. Rather, they measure which vehicles have the highest percentage of female drivers based on the number of survey respondents who said they were the primary driver of a particular model. The surveys were conducted in 2007. We excluded models that have been discontinued for 2008.

8) Women love bimmers in general. But there is a slightly feminine tone with the car (the body curves). I love riding Gunhilde around. I don't sweat it... if I wanted a "make my weenus bigger" type of car, I would've bought an Escalade or a hummer.

I've heard this kind of stat before ... the funny thing is that I rarely ever see women behind the wheel of a Z4.

My friend who works for BMW said most owners of Z4s that come in for a service are women but i see women every day driving Boxters ,911s,Huge pick ups 4x4s ,Jags the list goes on so i do not worry about it.

Women better damn well drive whatever their husbands or BF tell them to. As it should be. :poke: :poke: :fuelfire:

True... I haven't seen one behind the wheel of a Z4 on the roads yet... all dudes.

I wonder where the Mini Cooper ranked... because I only see women or accountants driving them. Every other car in my neighborhood is a mini... oh, and the X3 (no offense to anyone, X3s make me puke).

Yep I actually think I see more <30 year old men driving around in 2.0 Sport Z4s because it's on quite a few company car lists.

Boxster usually driven by females, I think that if a couple has a Boxster or similar then the wife/GF generally drives it through the day because they do less miles, and hubby has a Mitsubishi or Nissan Navara 4wd pickup-type vehicle for driving through the week.

When I got my Z4 all the men I work with were so jealous and told me I shouldnt be getting it as its a "man's car". I personally dont see it as either a mans or a womans car. Its just a beast of a car that looks rather sexy!!!!! lol

Fair few around my parts that do that the old man in the building trade so uses the 4x4 during the week then to soft top at weekends the only time the top comes down most of the wives have them up all summer with the air con on

If I wasn't happily maried, I would agree with you :D

While I suppose you can't argue with stats, I haven't seen many women at all driving Z4's. Maybe two? Not a lot of them in my area anyway. I don't see the Z at all as feminine, just a hot looking car that's fun as hell to drive. I also don't agree with "...Cars from Asian automakers tend to have styling that’s “much gentler, less aggressive,”. For me, Asian automakers' styling is harsh and choppy. It's all in personal opinions. Most women here drive trucks anyway, including me.

IDEAS..one of our former members, Veruca, had Z4M...although I think it was a roadster :scratchhead: , she traded it in a few months ago. And then there's the chick from Italy who also drives a Z4M, and I saw a lady in Buckhead about 8 months ago with a white Z4M Coupe. Although of course not as popular, they are out there.

The first Z4M I saw on the road was begin driven by a lady whose hair color matched the paint on her car. The car was Titanium Silver

I live in the Charlotte, NC area and see many fine Euro rides!! Most of the women I see are driving Porsche and Mercedes vehicles, I also see many of Lexus SC's with many Lady's behind the wheel of these brands, I have not seen many Z4's with girls---at the helm?

Agree, The Z4 is a hot looking vehicle!!!!!!!!!! Many people stop and look at my ride and they just stare, It is because the Z4 does have so many nice lines or should I say curves, that is maybe why I have not seen many ladies driving Z4's :D :D
I do see them driving X5's and yes even a new X-6 the other day!!!!!!!

B-

The first Z4M I saw was a lady driving it. She was fairly pleasant to look upon too. Oh and it was a roadster!

Here in San Diego women comprise nearly half of the Z4 drivers I see including one dame that drives an M roadster. One thing I notice is the women NEVER have the top down..........must be that hair thing.

I think women like the looks but not the reality of a hard riding, close fitting car. My sweetie doesn't much care to ride in my car.
