Would a 70K+ engine be suitable for JEs OCD?

New clutch whilst it's out, full service, belts and tensioners, new coolant, it'd be sweet as you like.

Mine is on 135k and honest runs better now than it did when I picked it up on 99,000 :D

Not to mention it could be fully de-greased and dressed whilst it's out.

JE could have it rebuilt brand new with forged internals and bolt a huge Turbo on it for the first 1000BHP Z4 Go on Jonny

Absolutely. JE has said before that money is no object for him. Let's get going JE. Get the engine, rebuild it. Like having a new powertrain in your 1 owner car....REEM

Is JE going to rise to the bait................ Surely a big brake kit and a LSD would finish it off nicely ?

Robs not wrong a few service items and a good clean should be good for another 100k at least. And its got a full history and the 3.0l has fae fewer problems than the 2.0l this really is a great opportunity Jonny they dont come much better than this. I will pitch in with the spanners too.....

Hi I should have put a price up last night, least that would stop you all bickering over it. I need £800 delivered for everything required to transplant over. It's a very clean unit and well maintained, I saw 26mpg running around town and 36mpg on a run which really surprised me. Never going to get anywhere near that when V10's running.

In all seriousness JE, that will be the best £800 you could ever spend on your car. Even if it cost you another £500 for the transplant, it's still no more expensive than a nice set of wheels and rubber - It's got to be done! 8)

JE has said before on his red seats thread that he doesn't fit anything 2nd hand to his car so I doubt he'll consider an engine swap, although I really hope he does do it, would make an interesting read.

where would i store the engine as again i dont have the room for a pallet with a engine on it.

How about in your engine bay? :D

Seriously Jonny, if you don't have the experience this isn't a DIY job, I'd be ringing round some indy's just to get a feel for how much this is likely to cost, don't also forget to upgrade your brakes too.

JE - buy this, get an ESS supercharger fitted while on the bench, clutch & diff uprated

The only way is Essex (& Tilbury)
