Feeling the pull of a 35i

I’m starting to feel the pull of the ‘Darkside’…. I keep having thoughts about buying a 35i

My head tells me it’s potentially a terrible idea, especially for my bank balance… but my heart is starting to win

On the Plus side, I’m not in anyway considering a ‘Jaaaaag!’ (You know who you are :poke: )
I’ve been thinking the same way as you for a while now. I would still keep my ///M and run both at different times so I’m not spending double on road tax. The silver one that Andy posted looks lovely but I do have a soft spot for red leather. I have had quite a few 3.0si’s and I still think they are the best bang for your buck but the 35i is tugging away at me. I will follow this thread with interest

Let me be the voice of sense here M. Don't get an N54, they break lots!
Get a Jaaaaaag! They break all the time but are cheaper.

Now hold on a minute, you never mentioned anything about making you see sense :poke: you were silly enough to post a title with a thread that was only going to encourage us to help you to empty your wallet even further :P

It was a cry for help……

….Which nearly everyone ignored

Other than - I’m going to buy a ‘Jaguar-Celica’ man

That's cos they're all blinkered......whereas I am unbiased and impartial (and I'm going off the idea of a Jaaaag TBH). Merc maybe?

You will regret it if you don't - there are no pockets in mans last shirt!

Go and try one - that will make the decision much easier

When I changed from a 3.0l E89 to the 35is this salesman said "Chalk and Cheese" when describing the car (There wasn't a car to try when I ordered mine in Aug 2016) He was telling the truth!

Go for it, the maintenance costs are nowhere near as bad as some Jaguar-lovers would have you believe, in my experience.

I’m on my 2nd 3.5i. 1st was DCT and now a manual. Had a S5 cab in between and missed 3.5i number 1 so I sold the S5 to buy another 3.5i. You won’t regret it., and if you do I’m sure you can re sell on here and pretty much get your money back….

Somewhat related fun fact: The other famous line, 'Go ahead make my day', was filmed at the fictional Acorn Café, about 1 1/2 blocks from here.
