Just been told by an Indy garage that was changing wheel bolts for me that the BMW garage has sold me the car with two front tyres that are cracked all the way round. The car was made in December 2010 but the tyres are dated 2009. So that probably means they have been changed before it was sold to me.

After owning the car for a month and a half this is the second problem I've had. 1st being the roof hydraulics where leaking and thus the roof mechanism stopped working. That took them five days to fix!!!

The garage in question is BMW cooper Malton

He probably means tyres if they're dated. Speak with the dealer as the tyres are a bit old for a 2010 car. They will be a bit cracked by now but shouldn't be an issue in performance.

Not unusual for the tyres to be dated earlier than the car build date..

They are 4 years old now and beginning to crack with age,how many miles have they done ?

Took it back to the dealers for them to inspect & they couldn't find anything wrong with them. Tyres were soaking wet though so could of disguised the cracks. Made me feel a lot better but will ask a friend who is a mechanic to have a once over to double check.
