This is a review on the Febi / Victor Reinz valve seal oem part number 11127582245
I replaced the valve gasket/seal on my E86 and decided to try a Febi gasket . I ordered from a reputable dealer on eBay and the gasket came in a febi sealed bag . When I looked at the main seal I noticed it said Victor Reinz on the black tab so I am asuming they are a part of Febi ?? .
When trying to fit the main seal it seemed a little ( 2-3 mm ) too long on the bottom edged of the valve cover . I took it out and tried fitting again but it was definitely just a bit too big . I decided to go ahead and fit it and it seemed ok making sure everything was torqued down correctly . On idle it seemed fine but as soon as I used some revs it started leaking oil exactly where the seal was too big . I removed the valve cover again with all the stuff that it involves :headbang: and took out the seal . I contacted the eBay dealer with photos of the seal and they were very apologetic and refunded me .
I then bought a genuine BMW seal and it fitted perfectly with no problems . I find most aftermarket items are very good but I would advise anyone thinking about changing the valve cover seal not to buy a Febi / Victor Reinz for this part number 11127582245 .
