Ok, this move to version 3 has officially been a babtism by fire for me... for this reason I want to compile a list of features that need adding/altering etc on the new forum.

Please post in here anything you want to be done differently, or anything that needs adding. I will then add it to the list below and keep this post updated with the current status:

Brighter, distinguishable colors please? :kissass:

Cool... any suggestions (either from you, or any artsy people on here)?

I'm better at the coding/hacking than the designing :(

Put an option for "American English" on the user preferences section. Can only choose "British English", and you know we can barely understand that!

Interesting.... I hadn't even noticed that... I wonder if American is available as a language pack?? :?

EDIT: I found out there is an American English language pack, but it's not been upgraded to RC5 yet... when it is I will add it... in the meantime, PM me if you need help with translation ;)

Ok.. testing the links opening in new window:

http://www.google.com

http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=112

Please note links that are from the URL button will always be in a new window... not a lot we can do about that, it's more complicated than it looks.

Better be careful as those from "da soutside" talk a whole load different than those from the South <see f n i for reference>.

The same difference in dialect that there is from someone from Henley-on-Thames and say Winson Green, Bham.

hehe, gotcha.... btw, do you guys understand scouse? ;) (just need to know in case I hook up with one of your adventures sometime!) :D

Nope, only what I heard on telly. I had a hard enough time with dealing with the Black Country, Bham and Little Haywood, Staffs (where I lived).

Hey Sp3ctre,
Any way to differentiate topics wtih new posts within the subgroups, having to resort to using post times to figure it out. Maybe having the little "text" indicator a different shade for the topics not marked as read by the system.

Edit: Forget the above, just noticed the tiny flag next to topics that have new posts :headbang: :D

Actually the icon on the left is a darker shade (the read ones are faded). I am going to fix this so you can tell the difference v.easily, but it's graphics work and will take some time to do... watch this space :D

When I hit 'new posts' and then click on a post, I expected to be taken to the end of the thread - but I am taken to the beginning.

Not a big deal - can then just click on to the end page, but to me a pointless intermediate step!

Thanks for all the hard work with the forum in general, and the V3 upgrade. Much appreciated.

Ok, I see what you mean.... not sure what I can do about that though, the "new posts" page is just a standard search with a filter on it... the end result behaves like any forum list. I may be wrong, but I think the results should generally have a little orange icon lext to the title... in this case clicking on it should take you to the earliest "new" post.

RE: Flags

JMO, but I'd prefer that they were user definable in our profile.
Some of us travel & login from many different IP locations.
I'd prefer to keep my CDN flag as I move around.

Sorry, not sure what you mean? I am not going to delve into the backend and alter how the forum works, but if I can tweak here and there then that's ok. :D

I have improved the date handling so it reports "today" and "yesterday" if posts were added today or yesterday :D

Correct me if I'm wrong.... but wasn't there talk about adding user flags (eg... USA, UK, CDN etc)?
I thought you were thinking about adding them based on IP location;
Flag below avatar (prob based on IP) - TO DO
If so, I just thought I'd prefer to select my own in the user profile.

BTW....
This site is getting better & better all the time.
Thanks for all your hard work, it's really appreciated
