Faux pas

I went to the village pact (police and community together) meeting yesterday and they had two policemen from Bahrain as observers in attendance

They were very kindly offered Bacon sandwiches - they politely declined the the offer!

Love a good faux pas!

When we walked into the Italian restaurant in Grenada the other week there was a young couple in front of us with Eastern European accents.
The maître de asked if they were Russian.
Yup, you guessed it! "We're Ukrainian!" :roll:

I also heard that Director of our local newspaper who offered our MP a ham sandwich at a function- the MP was Jewish !

Funnily enough, a few years back I saw a place selling Bacon Bagels. That seemed a bit of an oxymoron.

These days however you must be ultra careful.

If they had not been offered bacon or ham sandwiches, you might have left yourself open to racism by excluding ethnic minorities.
