Faulty rain sensor

Just a quick note in case it helps anyone else - hopefully some small pay back for the all the advice I've got from this site

The sensor/wipers worked when I first bought the car in Oct, but soon only worked when they felt like it.
Read a few threads here and then noticed the tell tale bubble on the windscreen.

I visited a local indie who conveniently has a an ex BMW mechanic employed
'New windscreen mate'
Apparently the one I have is not the original and the sensor wasn't fitted properly

I wasn't prepared to pay for that, or put a hammer through it as suggested!

A colleague suggested a nearby windscreen fitter.
He was prepared to re fix to the screen and ordered the correct adhesive (2 part mix)
Unfortunately whatever had been used previously was virtually impossible to remove and had clouded the sensor.

one week later and a new sensor from Rejel, all is well and working again :D
(I know some people hate them, but for me they they have been perfect)
Job looked fairly simple TBH, just didn't fancy it and he only charged me £30 labour.

OK, that does it! I've finally heard enough horror stories of botched windscreen replacements from independent outfits. Short of a glowing recommendation for a local outfit from other owners (fat chance of that), my Zed's going to the stealership for this work. It's not worth the risk and hassle of going anywhere else.
