Faulty Door open indication

Hi everyone, I have been locking /unlocking my 2007 N46 using the lock in the drivers door as neither key worked remotely. Central locking worked fine using this method and no door open fault light was present. I have now had my keys repaired and can now lock/unlock the car remotely. Since using remote key locking I now have a permanent door open indication which is incorrect. After locking remotely alarm arms as it should plus interior light goes on and off correctly on locking / unlocking. Please, has anyone suffered the same issue. Yes, I have checked the bonnet and boot switches work correctly.

Good morning and welcome.
Long time from joining to first post, so congratulations on having a perfectly behaving car up until now. :D

Firstly, try nudging the doors from outside. Maybe one of the lock actuators is not quite making a full movement.
Then try a gentle bump on the door card at the rear, from inside with the doors shut.
Hopefully this will help to isolate which door is the problem.
If you have access to a code reader that may tell you as well.
Obviously an electrical gremlin as I would not expect the doors to lock if it thinks one is still open.
Other possible cause could be the GM5 module, but again you'd need to get the codes read.

Whereabouts are you? Maybe someone near enough with a code reader to help you.

Hi, thanks for your suggestions, I have DIS57 and INPA software plus a code reader but cannot find any faults. Strange how this has come up as my first post as I have contributed lots of times over the years. I don’t think anyone with a Z4 can survive long without such a helpful group of enthusiast
