Fault code reader immobilized car

Irony at it's finest..

Brought a fault code reader a few days ago, a moderately good one to fix an ABS fault with a van. I decided to plug it into the zed to see if it worked even though there's nothing wrong with it and it and it seems to have immobilized the car :headbang:

I've tried connecting with a C110 reader and it won't connect to the ECU.

Has anyone experienced this?

It's got the DSC and yellow tyre monitor warning light on with ignition and flashes ABS light when cranking.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then reconnect it, it can clear faults like this sometimes - works on my bike sometimes anyway

Tried this to no avail :(

Managed to connect to the instrument cluster and that has some faults saying no CAN etc so looks like an ECU fault. Fuse maybe?

Disconnect the battery for longer, say an hour or so it's to be sure. A few minutes is not always enough.

If you bought a code reader then it has no method of changing any settings on the car, but maybe you pressed something you shouldn't have done. Have you tried the manufacturers website for any ideas?

Sorted now :driving:

Because it was a generic reader, while it was switching through the different protocols trying to connect it blew fuse 7 behind the glove box labelled OBD. Never seen the happen before but at least it's sorted and I'll stick to INPA now
