Fatal crashes around/Near EVO Triangle

Very sadly there seems to have been a number of tragic accidents over the last few weeks on the very same North Wales roads a few of us all drove back in April this year, namely the A5, resulting in two deaths.

Phil45110, Spikey, 2Dogs and myself spent three days driving around Capel Curig and the Evo Triangle areas, which are probabaly some of the best open and twisty roads, where I've had the pleasure of putting the Alpina through its paces. However, this just goes to show the sad reality of when it goes wrong or somebodyelse does something stupid or unpredictable

The locals at Pentrefoelas have been getting pretty anoyed recently as the popularity of the EVO triangle is growing, and their village sits on the Southern leg of the triangle, on the A5. Police had already promised the villagers that patrols would be stepped up, so I would imagine that their pressence will be heavier than ever following recent events.

So if you are planning to test the Zed in this area during the summer months, be careful....

I'm sure the Traffic Taliban will use it as an excuse for speed cameras appearing in the Welsh countryside

Those linked accidents are locals by the looks of it with tractors and people carriers?

I was expecting to read about performance cars etc.

+1 on that.

TBH, the A5 section is quite boring and is the main trunk road. That said it can be travelled quite quickly, but we didn't didnt bother with it when we were there a few weeks ago... We were quite early in the morning though :driving:

It's some of the locals that are causing these crashes, as I was out for a solo drive last year and had to slam on & swerve to avoid a local farmer in his Hilux who had decided I wasn't going to overtake him on a clearly righted but of road :headbang:

Not been back o the Triangle since, as there a plenty of other roads without these stupid driving standards vigilantes.

Seat Leon (Cupra?) Ford Focus (ST?) were involved in each accident. You can read it how you like I suppose. I know a tractor was invovled, but was it due to the performance cars overtaking or pushing it where they shouldnt have ?

I doubt that full details would be published and I may be putting 2+2 togher and getting 5 but Pentrefoelas is part of the Triangle and I know the residents arent happy about the Evo Triangle. It just made my ears prick up twice recently when I've heard the radio traffic news mention these areas.

I also know that myself and the boys particularly enjoyed the Capel Curig road and may have occasionally popped over the limit for a split second. Worth a mention I thought for any perspective visitors to the area soon.

Whoever got it badly wrong or whatever they were driving it sure as hell wasn't the fault of the baby that was killed. I'm sure it's not what was intended but some of the responses could seem a bit dismissive :(
