Farrell takes a battering....

All in a game I know but hells teeth Owen Farrell got two big thumps against the USA today and he only played half a game....first took his nose off, then he got viciously shoulder charged and head butted resulting in the comps first red card. What constantly makes me laugh is I can’t help imagining what most footballers would be like given the same treatment.... You can just picture the crying and rolling around for hours on end..... George Ford was awesome, cracking game, really enjoyed it, England were in stampede mode..!

I’d love to put dirty pricks like Joey Barton and David Luiz up against Farrell....see how long they last playing dirty against him....”UNDERTAKER.....measure these two up will you....”..... :P

Different game, different skills required. The only similarity is that it is played on grass and the teams 'try' to score between two posts, well all except Manchester United. Bulldozer or Ballet dancer? One could demolish a house and the other entertain with skill and dexterity. :fuelfire:

The top footballers certainly have tons of skill, it’s their play acting skills which are more suspect though

I agree 100% John. The game has changed over the years. A tiny tap on the shoulder and a player goes down. We all know it is wrong and play acted, so why do referees allow it?

Well exactly, I’ve no idea how they get away with it tbh, same goes for the completely outrageous way they shout and swear at the ref, totally unacceptable, hence my spoiled brat comment. You don’t see rugby players arguing with the ref do you. I’d red card them for their behaviour. It’s filtering down to school kids too, I used to take Saturday morning football for the little ones in our village, the older primary kids are the same, mouthy, throwing tantrums, copying the pro’s, it’s ridiculous. Well, they USED to be like that for a couple of weeks until I put them right.....I’m afraid I won’t tolerate it.....

Still a terrible tackle on Owen and the Yank deserved to get the red card

Yeah, lazy, dangerous and basically a dead-ball incident anyway. Sets a good example of a clear cut infringement. Ref in the Tonga game did a great job of a few more marginal ones, I thought.

Encouraging game but in a weak group still (bar bogey team France!). Cockanasiga could have got for four or five on his own but I think Genge deserved the “freight train of the week” award with that break.
