Farewell

It was a sad day yesterday as I watched my baby leave with her new owner. I've had the car 5 years and it's been a blast. Nothing went wrong with her! I put the car on the market and 3 hours later she was sold. I bought her for $33k with 22000 miles and sold her for $29,500 with 46000 miles. Not a bad deal, but the new owner got a great car. Prior to owning the Z4 MC I owned a Z3 MC and I loved both cars.

I'm moving into an AMV8Vs. It might be this one, if everything checks out OK. She's a one owner 11000 miles full AM dealer service history. Normally I'm a manual guy but after driving both versions (and wanting an S) I decided to have a change and get the sportshift II. The guy is on the waiting list for a DB11.
I'll still be hanging around here as you guys are great.

Old to new

Hi Dale, I'm glad you've enjoyed the Z4MC. Which did you like best out of your 2 ZMs? I've still got both of mine.

I like the choice of your new car. Enjoy

Thought you had a silver z4mc? what's the imola one? :D

I debated the AMV8 closely but testing i found it felt like a heavier Z4MC, with some power to offset it. Looks a stunner though.

What fantastic value for money motoring your Z4 ///MC proved to be.

The AM looks gorgeous enjoy (car envy  ) :driving:

Lovely decision to have! I had a V8V for a couple of years, cracking car....but don't buy the auto, it's a pig and really holds the car back! If you want a similar financial return to the ownership of the Z then go manual every time...the auto is what dates those cars more than everything else!

Gorgeous looking AM. 8) My wife loves that colour. Jealous, as I can't fit in one  or I might be skint and running one myself.

V nice buddy.
I too was tempted by a v8vr
But think only an R8v10 plus has the ability to make me sell my M .
Enjoy new toy!!

That's a tough one John. It's like trying to decide which sister I like best. My Z3 MC was totally stock so a little bit floaty when cornering, but I totally loved the look of it. A stock-to-stock comparison, would have me favouring the Z4 MC. I would be happy with either car though.

Your a lucky man owning both!!
Thanks for your friendship on both this forum and the Z3 forum over the last 10 years or so John. Keep at your modifications, I appreciated all your engineering adventures.

I've always owned am imola Z4 MC. I agree somewhat with your statement on the comparison. I know the Aston is not worth 2-3 times the value of the Z4 MC (nothing compares on a price-to-enjoyment ratio of the Z4 MC), but it's an itch I have to scratch. The Aston does give a better overall driving experience though.

I'll post a comparison after I had a chance to go through the honeymoon period.

I admit the speedshift I is a pig, but the speedshift II is OK. I've driven all three and decided to go for a speedshift II (really because I want the S version). Time will tell! Plus, manuals are really difficult to find in the USA.

That's the way it's going everywhere now autos are really getting popular especially with 8 speeds, faster shifting and better reliability.
