Falken 452 Tyres plus fitting in UK, Best price/place?

As a 52 year old I guess you are old enough and wise enough to know when you are not wanted and politely leave? Is that correct?

I may well know nothing, I don't wish to debate it, but what I do know is I would prefer it if you would leave.

Thanks

Id really love to see a pic of this nutter.

my impression is something along the lines of

goonies_sloth.jpg

back to the subject. i have runflats on corroded 108's (yes that old chestnut) im planning on changing the wheels and tyres soon to M6 reps with falkens.

the falkens seem to be good value for money, camskill get them for about 320 for the set if i remember right. fitting is then 20 ish pounds a tyre.

i have been quoted 699 for the 18inch reps with black inners to suite my black car with falkens from a guy on ebay. cant wait to ditch the RFT's

Isn't the TPS system type dependent on the year produced?
I remember the US spec cars were like 03-04 the TPS system used the ABS to monitor wheel rotation and determined air pressure that way, where as the 05 onwards had the TPS monitor in the valve stem?
Or was that misinformed or just applies to US spec?

Thats the wheel/tyre combo im looking to get. However, i saw a nice 3 series coupe running on these reps today and must say the finish was very cheap and a bit tacky looking. If only I could source (and afford) a set of ginuine M6 alloys !!!!

Guys, please do not feed the troll...

As for the tyres, I found it hard work getting somewhere that would fit non-RFT's for me... eventually found a place that agreed to do it and have used them ever since.

Blackcircles are sometimes good... just ask them to check with the fitter first

This is true in the USA, but in the UK it's all done on the ABS sensor regardless of year of manufacture.

Hi all,

back from Dubai at last, just saw this thread and thought i would add my 50 cents from my experiance in smart roadies, alot of people, and i mean alot 70% who have different brands of tires on teh front of thier smart roadie to the back often complain that at speeds over 40 mph that the car will "wiggle" (and actually become very uncontrolable) it actually got to the point where people contacted Merc and basically its all to do with weight distribution and different tires having different grip etc...

So in short they always say never have different brands and sets of tires as it can have huge effects on the drive and can actually be a dangerious. So with the Z4 being alot more powerful i would imagine the effects could be multiplied. So with that said i would be nervous having run flats on one set of tires and others on another..

Anyway my 50 cents, (i havent actually experianced this but why risk it....)

Just ordered my falkens today with a local tyre company, £382 all in..

Judging by earlier posts this isn't too bad, so very happy :D

Recently purchased some 108's without tyres so should be a straight fit and balance, tyres come in fri/mon so can't wait to ditch the standard 16's and r/flats..

:)

i had a second hand set of ebay.. and paid around £300

they have no kerb marks, however have a little corrosion on the inners, but will look to refirbish within the next few months..

I wanted these wheels when i purchased the car, liked the optional extra's on the one i had, so thought may aswell get the wheels after car purchase :)

I might keep my 16's just to be stubborn :P

Just keep an eye out on ebay etc.. something is bound to come up, especially if you have a few different one's you are interested in

i've had my 16's for a year now (since purchasing the car), finally thinking it would look much better with a some nice wheels :)

My 108s just went for 225 on ebay. They collected. Was hoping for more, but they were just sat around. Had them advertised on here long enough without any proper interest too.

Sounds good welshgirl - that the combo I run on 108's with Falkens.

You did remember they are staggered so diffferent front and rear sizes?

so what do you have now, any pics?

no pics as of yet, will take the car out for some pics when the new wheels are on.. i just had the standard 16's that came with the car from new (103 style maybe? not sure tbh)

So glad - you'd be amazed how many order wrongly

... and then how many tyre fitters get confused with 2 rim sizes, 2 tyres sizes and unidirectional too...

I done my research 1st - thanks to everyone who has ever posted on the subject :) the search button comes in handy - the best manual you could ever have

My mum was amazed when i told her they were different sizes.. but when she rang for the quote and gave the sizes the guy on the other end immediatly said 'is it a bmw or merc'

i feel like a big kid now.. can't wait lol
