Failed Electric Seat

The electric driver's seat (RHD) in my 2003 Z4 E85 has failed. The car was parked outside in a heavy downpour and the drainage well overflowed into thr driver's compartment. As a result the seat is stuck in the full backward position and all adjustment and heating has failed. I cannot acces the rear bolts on the rails and therefore cannot remove the seat.Any ideas on how I can manually move it forward to access the bolts and therefore remove the seat and try to fix whatever is wrong with it?

How did you deal with the seat motor no longer working? Mine has stopped working but I haven't had a look at how to sort it as the door went into deadlock so I had to deal with that too.
