I am in the hunt for a coupe. Does anyone have descriptions of the optional packages offered?

Thanks

Fred
Assuming you mean Z4 you can download old brochures here http://www.auto-brochures.com/bmw.html

What year did they start making the hardtop convertible?

2009 when the E89 was introduced.

Are you in the UK or USA as that will make a difference to specification. Different again if elsewhere.

Do you like the hardtop convertible-better than soft top-not as good as a coupe?

I think they all have their merits, if I could afford it and had the parking space I'd have all of them :D

I am back to the 2006-2008's. Some have S and others Si.

What is the difference?

Thanks

Fred

Never heard of the S coupe, where did you see that? As far as I know you get the coupe in two different engine options. The 3.0si and the 3.2 Z4M.

BMW dropped the Z designation on the M versions of the 06 to 08 models, we all call them Z’s but they technically aren’t. M’s are the M3, M5, M6, M Roadster and M Coupe, I guess they couldn’t fit an M4 in there due to future considerations.... or they wanted to save a couple of $$ on Chrome letters :?

So why does it say Z4 M on the brochures that BMW printed for the Z4 M?

They are a little confused, if you go to bmw site and look at 3 series you won’t find an M3. M’s were always listed as a separate group. More than likely a cost cutting measure for the brochures as most of it would be Z4 specific.
If you look at an M model you have to look pretty hard to find a Z badge on it..

Here's a Z4 M advert that says Z4 M at the end.
