Hi all,

I assure you I've searched several times for the answer to this question, but all I got was assorted comments referring that the Z4 3.0si had "some" factory "M" accessories.

Some say this model comes with the "M" suspension, some say it comes with the "M" gearbox...

It doesn't make much sense to me but I'm sure someone here will know this.

The gearbox is the same as the ///M but more a case of the ///M getting the 3.0Si gearbox rather than the other way about.

The sports suspension (standard on 3.0 in the UK) is called "M Sport suspension" but it is also different from the ///M.

The Z4 ///M gearbox is a ZF unit with totally different ratio's to the 3.0. It has extremely low 1/2nd gear ratios due to lack of sub-1500rpm torque. The Z4M suspension is totally different. It is lower, harder & the shock absorbers (dampers) have a much different rebound factor. As different as chalk & cheese!

The 3.0 will "tramline" on most tyres, causing near heart attacks on bumpy country roads when the car draws you into the verge & up the bank if you are not concentrating. The ///M car is perfect ALL the time. I'm on my fifth Z3/Z4 so I know

I knew you guys would clarify this for me

I do find the 3.0si a bit hard on some bumpy roads but I love that gearbox :driving:
