Factory GPS antenna replacement

Hi everyone

I want to replace my oem gps antenna as its a bit temperamental.

I've located it in the recess behind the centre light up the top of the windscreen.

Ive looked on eBay, do I need one with a female or male SMB connector??

I don't want to have to re-run the cable all the way to the DVD unit and I can see there is a silver screw-type connector for the antenna, just haven't taken it off (would need more dismantling)

Thanks

Yeah, I'm trying not to have to dismantle the centre console again if I can help it - hence my desire to mount it where the OEM one is already (centre console roof map light area).

Thanks for the link

^^ what he said :D

Replaced mine, although sourced for the US. It comes with an f type connector IIRC.
Fitted in the same location, although you may need to adjust the bracket slightly. Don't lose the rest of the cable when you disconnect the old sensor though !!
Tapatalking...

But how do you get to the back of the DVD drive to plug the antenna in then? Or is there a break in the standard wiring where I can plug it in?
