Factory fitted cruise - is there a light in the display?

Although its never an issue as 99.9 % of the time you are aware of it there have been odd occasions where I've then had to jump on the brake PDQ as the car in front is still gradually slowing whilst the CC is maintaining the set speed...

I've had this too, but tbh in that situation I'm not sure a dashboard lamp would make any difference, maybe at night.

My 2003 has the light. Back in 2000, I bought the new VW fully loaded, but no light. If you aimed a flashlight at the cluster, you could see the "cruise" annunciation. The dealer said they had no plans of putting the light until later models. You do get use to it.

How much was a top of the range Z4 with extra's new in 2007? A lot. £45k?

My 2007 Citroen C4 vtr+ egs work runner was £13.5k when I bought it new. Best cruise control I have ever had on a car. So easy to set, adjust the speed and see what speed is stored for resume. I often dont touch the pedal for a lng time.

Of course there is no comparison between driving the two of them, horses for courses and all that, just trying to say that for a fairly expensive car, some things could be a little better.

Although with the sort of driving I do in the Z4m, I wouldn't get to use cruise much anyway

I find cruise great for relaxed motorway driving - just set it for between 70 and 80 and forget about getting done :wink:
