Factory Alarm System

Good Morning. First Post here

I understand that the factory alarm kit is no longer being made (65730302424), Does anyone have any data as to what was in this kit? My car is wired for it (I guess) I have a hood switch that is installed. Can some help? Old Instructions per say
Thanks

My Car - Kind of a family barn find. 2004 Z4 - 3.0 Loaded with 47K Miles. It has a interesting history.

My factory alarm system died after 2 years. It's crap. I tried to get a local shop to put in a Viper alarm, top of the line, but they gave up after 3 days, due to BMW's strange wiring. :o I would not recommend the BMW alarm. If you get it, your neighbors will soon know the sound of your car alarm, due to many false alarms.

Thanks for the input. I looked at my hood switch the other day and noticed that someone had cut the wires and tied them back. Now I wonder if my car does in fact have a factory system and the pervious owner had a problem with it as you have alluded to. Are there other ways to tell?

Not sure. Try reconnecting the wires and see if you can arm it. I disconnected mine under the hood due to fake alarms. It lessened them, but they still occur.

The factory alarm that I had installed on my 3.0si works fine and has done since it was installed more than 5 years ago.

I get totally random alarm activations. Most popular reason seems to be the bonnet switch which is why they are often disconnected. Didn’t stop it on my car sadly so i tend to lock it on the key these days.

I've been dealing with my stock car alarm on my 2004 z4 2.5 e85 going off in the morning hours. I checked the Battery, its new, I checked the Alternator, working fine. and I checked all 5,000 fuses under the pass. dash, with a Voltmeter and none of them where putting out any amps. So...I gave up and took it to a BMW auto Garage and after 5 days in the shop and a $900.oo Bill, they said sorry, they couldn't find anything! ? what?? I tried locking the car with the Key Fob (lock then hold lock button down again for 10secs. and that SEEMED to work, I'm sure my neighbors will let me know asap. I wonder if a Dealership could figure it out and what costs? Or is there a way I can just Disconnect the whole Alarm system completely. Don't need it since I have a Dog with a bad attitude and large teeth. Any help would be Greatly Appreciated!!!
WELL.... it looks like this 1.4 BMW scanner only works with Windows XP! Hmmm? I pulled the number #30 fuse and that seems to control the only Seat Sensors and Door Locks. Alarm still goes off at night and morning. So, plan B, as per Z44JON I'm going to unplug the Siren Horn !!!
Plan C....Bigger Hammer!!
>> Big News!!!! I removed fuse #30 and the alarm hasn't gone off Once in a week!! so now to find just those related sensors and test them and find the bad sensor!! If you have any insight on what those Sensors do. I already found that #30 disables the Door Key Fob. :-(
Well...after giving my car to the repair shop and they had it on a $15K test machine for 7days Straight and the Alarm never went off, once!! However, they kept a trickle charger on the Battery, so it wouldn't run out of juice. I took the car back and took it to AutoZone to check the Battery, they stated the Battery was 8 YEARS OLD and couldn't hold a charge for more than 2 days. Turns out the Alarm was NOT draining the Battery, the Battery losing a CHarge , was setting off the ALARM!!!! $900.00 for Shop DIAGNOSTIC AND $300.00 for a New Battery.
I should have taken it to the Dealership, NOT a Repair Shop!! Anyone think I should get SOME of my Money back from the SHOP??

BMW scanner 1.4 will tell you which sensor triggered the alarm. Work backwards from there.

Siren is under the drivers side rear wheel arch at the rear under the light, easily disconnected. I had a similar issue with mine ( although its a Japan import and I retro fitted the system). Eventually traced to a faulty bonnet switch and a hidden obsolete tracker that was slowly dragging the battery voltage down.
