Faceliift or Pre-facelift ?

Pre-facelift is better looking car IMO. M54 is a great engine. I have had 3 different BMWs in recent years with 2.5, 2.8 and 3.0 M54 engines and have not had one single problem. I searched high and low for a decent, early model, low mileage M54 engined Z4 and have no regrets whatsoever.

Have you had any bad experience with the n52 engine? I was also referring to the reliability in regards to the shoddy cooling system on the m54 :) interested to hear of any n52 issues as I'm going looking at another tonight :)

No bad experiences (owned N52 and S54 engine cars), just what I've seen over the years here in the forum really. I think both are strong engines but with the N52 you just need to be sure the correct oil has always been used as it's quite sensitive to that IIRC.

Good luck with tonight's viewing

^^^ this bmw got it right first time unique looking rear lights and front bumper then gave it a face lift so the front lower part of the bumper looked simulier to other models in there range and the same with rear lights.
But best look for me is a Z4 kitted out in the Aero kit better looking than an M IMO.

Pre facelift looks like coach lights on the back, facelift look much cooler. Horses for courses.

I've just had the water pump fail on an N52 at 46,000 miles / 9yrs.

Aside from styling and engine there are other advantages to the facelift....

Better roof motor insulation(although not fault proof)
Better door insulation/ sound deadening
Revised suspension

Darker interior plastics and chromy bits to the ac unit etc.

Don't you pay more road tax on the facelift, probably not much more but I hate giving the government more of my hard earned than I have to.:)

Facelift and make it a an Individual Coupe ☺

for £6700? More chance of me shagging Kate Middleton!

True I paid 8100 but mine has 110k miles on it.

Nearly run in! :driving:

Edit buyer beware...

Bought mine from a dealer who has thus far put a new wiper motor on it and it's in for a new fuel pump (whining) and Vanos (oil at end of pipes and .5 second hesitation when you floor her) a week on monday.

Big believer in dealer peace of mind for the few extra hundred quid.
