Facelift Z4 Roof Not Working! - Motor?

Hi guys,

Popped out earlier in my Z4, it's a nice clear day so I put the roof down. The roof went down as normal, didn't seem any slower than usual etc. Anyway when I got back home I went to put the roof up, the windows went down then nothing, no sound at all from the motor. I pulled the red toggle in the roof to allow me to raise the roof manually, then disengaged the red toggle and locked the roof into place with the actual button to close the roof.

I tried to lower the roof with the button, the windows lower, the roof unlocks then nothing again.

Have I suffered the dreaded motor failure?! Hopefully not, I haven't checked the fuse yet - can anybody tell me where the fuse is?
 
Would be very unlucky if the roof motor has gone on a facelift zed.

A quick forum search should show you where the fuse box is... :thumbsup:
 
Is the car always parked outside? Even though the facelift is much better, the weather will get to it if the car is outside (eventually)

And when it does is more likely to retain the water due to better sealing :(
 
:( ... Bad luck - I thought facelift Z's didn't have this problem.

I'm now wondering if £900 for a hard top is actually a good investment based on the fact my car is outside all the time...
 
It is always parked outside. If it is the motor I'll probably just change it myself. Does this happen on many other convertibles or is it just really bad design from BMW? Never seem to hear of it on S2000's etc.
