I don't think my facelift '08 does this :?

It's just a codeable option, but I'm pretty sure it's not selected from the factory.

I think this function is programmable from the dash/obc stalk?

No, only code able with software INPA, SSS or via an intravee (where you can select the number of flashes required)
 
I'd stretch to a 6 cylinder if I was in your position OP. I have a 2.0 and love the car, done loads of work on it but the one regret I have is not opting for a bigger engine. Gorgeous car but I'd like a bit more go, and whatever you do you're never getting any more power out of her.

Our the dealer can set it to do this from new or it's foldable by inpa etc
