Facelift questions

I am in the process of putting face lift bumpers on my 2004 Z4 E85, but have a few questions

1. If I use upgrade front and rear lights, do they need to be programmed?

2 I have an Z4M rear bumper to put on and have a couple of questions about it:

a: Did they do a facelift rear bumper for the Z4M or did they leave it as was

b: I have been told that I will need a fitting for the M bumper for it to fit on my car, can somebody clarify this and give me the part number

c: If I use facelift lights on the rear , will I need to programme these??

Different pin connectors and programming required. Run a search on here. Rears are a different shape and requires the facelift rear bumper too, or adaption

Only 1 design of rear Z4M bumper

b: I have been told that I will need a fitting for the M bumper for it to fit on my car, can somebody clarify this and give me the part number
Front requires the ///M undertray or template up a strip of plastic to fit the different profile of undertray and bumper. You also need bumper air trumpets and mounting brackets
Rear obviously needs quad exhaust system (real exhausts, T pipe or even fake tips) and would require further work in the centre section

Think it's pins, but never did that one - search on here

None of what you propose is pure bolt on stuff. All doable but you need to do a fair bit of research, but all you ask has been done before

ZM bumper is a facelift bumper, (as in) it requires the facelift rear lights to fit.
Not sure about coding, but im sure its been done loads on here before by other forum members.
You would imagine NO as the lights function the same, but never say never.

I can find plenty of pics and write up for a front z4m bumper upgrade, but struggling to find one for the rear can anybody point me in the right direction??

I don't think there is any issue with physically fitting the rear bumper, just the wiring pins and coding. The connectors are the same so I'd advise thinking about withdrawing pins to swap them rather than cutting any looms. If you're near London I could certainly help with the wiring and coding.

I'm in the middle of a rear facelift conversion too.

The facelift bumper physically fits on without any modifications (to the bumper itself).

However as per your comment 2b you will need the facelift part to hold the bumper (or you can modify your own). This is as per item 6 in the link below.

You'll also like CJ said need to bridge the gap underneath as the M bumper is shorter than the standard.

You'll also need new light surrounds too like Ranski has said.

2c. Yes you will need to swap some wires and code.
